Titanium earrings for children: why we created Titanium Mini
Choosing earrings for a child can be more difficult than it first appears. Parents look for jewellery made from a reliable material that is comfortable to wear, fastens securely, appeals to the child and remains affordable.
These qualities do not always come together. The materials used in inexpensive earrings are often unclear, while many designs recommended for sensitive skin are simple and offer little choice. Children’s earrings made from precious metals can also be a considerable expense, especially when there is always a chance that an earring may be lost.
The Click&Glance Titanium Mini collection was created to provide a solution to this very real problem.
.
Why titanium?
Titanium Mini earrings are made from G23 titanium, a grade also used for medical implants. Titanium is nickel-free, hypoallergenic, does not rust and is exceptionally lightweight.
Its low weight is particularly beneficial for children’s earrings. The jewellery does not pull unnecessarily on the earlobe and is barely noticeable during wear. This can also make it more comfortable for children who are only beginning to get used to wearing earrings every day.
Titanium’s natural colour is a subtle, modern silver-grey. Gold-coloured versions have a durable PVD coating, allowing us to offer earrings in a warmer, more traditional shade as well.

A skin-friendly material for sensitive ears
Redness, itching or discomfort around the ear can often be triggered by one of the metals used in jewellery, particularly nickel. This makes the material of children’s earrings especially important.
G23 titanium can be a good option for sensitive skin because it is nickel-free and hypoallergenic. Nevertheless, every child may react differently. Irritation can also be caused by dirt, friction or an ear piercing that has not yet healed completely.
If the ear remains red, painful, swollen or produces discharge, it is advisable to remove the earring and seek professional advice.

Safety depends on more than the material
In addition to the material, the size, shape and fastening are also important when choosing earrings for a child.
Titanium Mini earrings are small and lightweight, and their proportions have been designed to sit comfortably on a child’s ear. Push-in and screw-back models can be secured firmly when fitted correctly.
No earring fastening can be considered completely loss-proof. An earring may catch on clothing, bedding or other objects during play, dressing or sleep, so the fastening should be checked regularly.
For younger children, inserting, removing and cleaning the earrings should always be handled by an adult. Older children and young teenagers should first be shown how to use them correctly, and a parent should occasionally check the fastening and the condition of the ear.
.
.
Why do we recommend them from the age of three?
The Titanium Mini collection is recommended for children aged three and older.
This age recommendation is primarily based on safety. Earrings and their fastenings are small parts that can be dangerous if swallowed or inhaled. From around the age of three, children generally have a better understanding that jewellery should not be removed, placed in the mouth or used as a toy.
Regular parental checks remain important regardless of the child’s age.
For newly pierced ears, always follow the instructions provided by the professional who performed the piercing. The initial jewellery should only be replaced once the recommended healing period has passed.

Designed for children without looking too babyish
A reliable material alone is not enough. The child also needs to like the earrings; otherwise, they are unlikely to enjoy wearing them.
The Titanium Mini collection therefore includes colourful and playful designs such as flowers, butterflies, cherries, paw prints, sparkling stones and iridescent opals. They are designed for children without looking overly babyish, allowing them to remain appealing across several age groups.
Most motifs measure only a few millimetres. They look delicate and well-proportioned on the ear, while their small details and colours remain clearly visible up close.
.
.
For older children and young teenagers too
The Titanium Mini collection is not limited to preschool and primary-school children. Larger designs with longer posts can also be worn comfortably by older children and young teenagers.
A longer post provides more space for a thicker earlobe, while a larger decorative element is easier to hold when inserting or changing the earring. For children who prefer to keep their earrings in overnight, the correct post length and a fastening that does not press behind the ear are especially important. Comfort should always be checked individually.
At this age, children often enjoy choosing earrings to match their clothes or mood. The accessible price also makes it possible to own several designs and means that accidentally losing an earring does not represent an excessive expense for the parent.
Titanium Mini can therefore offer comfortable, appealing earrings from a child’s first favourite pair through to the early teenage years.
.
Affordable without compromising on the material
Children’s tastes can change quickly. An earring may also be lost, or the child may prefer a different colour or design a few months later.
For this reason, it was important to us that the Titanium Mini collection should be not only attractive and skin-friendly but also affordable.
Titanium allows us to offer earrings made from a reliable material at a more accessible price than precious-metal jewellery. This also makes it possible to choose several colours or designs that the child can change to match different outfits and occasions.

How should you choose earrings for a child?
Before buying, consider:
- whether the ear piercing has healed completely;
- which type of fastening the parent or older child can manage comfortably;
- whether the post length is suitable for the thickness of the earlobe;
- which motif size suits the child’s ear;
- which colour or design the child would enjoy wearing;
- whether the child has previously reacted to any metal or coating;
- whether the earrings will be worn every day or only occasionally.
If the child is old enough to express a preference, it is worth involving them in the choice. They are more likely to enjoy wearing and taking care of earrings they have selected themselves.
.
.
Check the earrings regularly
Children’s earrings should occasionally be removed and cleaned, and the post and fastening should be inspected.
Always wash your hands before inserting the earrings and make sure the jewellery is clean. Check the fastening regularly, particularly after dressing, washing the child’s hair, active play or sport.
If the earrings press against the ear during sleep, become uncomfortable or frequently catch on something, they should be removed at night or replaced with a more suitable size or design.
For earrings with stones, enamel or a PVD coating, always follow the care instructions provided for the specific product.
